Missing my girls

Joy is in Florida, Leah is in Michigan. Wow! now that's a lonely feeling. I am presently sitting in my neighbors driveway, awaiting the arrival of a tow truck. My Soul is stuck in 3rd gear and I can't move it! Hope they come soon! I'm not sure who left their wireless unsecure, but I am thankful. At least I am able to do something while I wait.

The Longer I serve him

Joy and I had the opportunity to sing this Sunday morning. It was such a blessing to be able to sing with her. How many dads get to minister with their children? I am really blessed. Too bad she's on her way to Florida on Tuesday. She'll be gone for 10 whole days. I will sure miss her. Think I could talk her out of going?

October 31, Harvest Party

The kids enjoyed a great afternoon of games, treats etc., today. The harvest party is an alternative to the kids going out and trick or treating.

We got to the party late, but, here's an example of what was going on.

Hey guys, here are your phots. I hope you like them. The green screen allows for all kinds of backgrounds. Mrs F mentioned she wanted a green background, so I used this photo as the background for most of the photos. If you think you would like something else, let me know, and I'll do my best to accomodate you.

That Ain't no banana

Here's Joy's entry in the contest Friday night. Yes, I am biased. This was the best entry of all. Hands down. Just kidding, there were many great entries; though I never saw them. Maybe someone took photos of them and could forward them to me to include here? Please send them to me at kwflateau@gmail.com .

Rockets at Ellicott Creek Park

I left the Doctor's office on Monday and had an hour to wait until Joy's Volleyball game (which was cancelled, by the way) and stopped at Ellicott Creek Park to take some photos. I found a family there launching model rockets. It reminded me of my younger days when I too would build and launch them. It was great fun then, and still is today. The family was very receptive of my photographing them. Thanks very much. I really enjoyed myself.

Labor day at Wilson Tuscarora Park

It was a nice day spent with Pastor Bern, and Ed Armstrong and his family, along with Daisy Landry and her children. I have to say I'm still upset about the creme puffs, but, I'll eventually get over it. Probably by the time the rapture hits. Till then, I'll probably be a bit tender, so, Daisy, treat me gently.

Kaylea's Birthday Party

After a morning of downpours, the skies cleared and allowed Kaylea's party to be held as planned. Sure missed alot of the family, due to illness or distance, but the party was nice. Here are some photos of the day.

McGovern Family get together

Ted and Cheryl McGovern were visiting in town, and we decided to have a get together at our home on Saturday, August 8th. Kevin and Colleen were visiting with their children as well. The weather was not as nice as we would have liked, but, with the two shelters, we stayed dry and had a very nice visit. It was good to see Cheryl recovered from her cancer surgery and chemo treatments. We will continue to pray for her reconstructive surgery and future health improvements.

The day was also Debbie's birthday! I won't tell you how old she is, but she is not 50 yet!

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

The Smoots New Roof

On Saturday, June 27th, a few fellows from church assisted the company doing the re-roof on Brother Nathan's house on Payne Ave. The city inspector insisted that the roof be replaced. Here are some photos to show the progress. The day was successful, as you will see.

Annual ERT Awards Banquet

I had the honor of attending the Annual General Mills Safety Committee Banquet. Having never attended one of these before, I had no Idea how involved the committee was in our day to day lives in the plant. It was certainly an eye opener.

Here are some photos of the evening. Hope you like them.

Mr and Mrs Craig Kopra

What a wonderful wedding, uniting Anita Hart and Craig Kopra. As you will see, the winds were gusting on their wedding day, but that didn't deter them. We had a great wedding inspite of the bride losing her veil to the wind, the chairs being blown over and a majority of the hair makeovers being "tossed in the wind". The rain held off until we were all inside enjoying the reception. All in all, it was a beautiful day for a wedding.

Thank you Anita and Craig for allowing me to share in your day. I hope that you will enjoy the photos.

My Mother's Prayer

We celebrated Mother's Day in church this morning. Among the specials sung during the service was this one: "My Mothers Prayers". The sound quality is not great, but the message is still loud and clear. Hope you enjoy it.

Yet another hockey night at Mil-Sher

The guys never seem to tire of the competition. It is obvious they love the game. I am still trying to hone my technique with available lighting. It's difficult to get a good clear shot with the type of lighting at Mil Sher. It varies over the length of the floor. But, hey, I try. Check these out:

Resurrection Eve

Joy and I did our traditional baking/decorating of the Easter Bunny. This year featured a new kink in the process, but we were able to pull it off. Check it out! He's not a bad looking bunny! And remember: "You're no body till some bunny loves you!" Happy Resurrection day! Enjoy the day off choir! I sure will!

Our Whaling trip

What a wonderful day we had watching the whales. We went approximately 15 miles out into the pacific ocean...we saw several whales. The excursion was wonderful! The mammals are huge! Though I didn't get to catch one diving up and out of the water, we did see several break the surface; their "blows" are definitely distinctive and cannot be confused with any thing else on the water. Check them out and see for yourself!

Our first couple of days in San Diego

On our first day, we spent most of it on Coronado Island, checking out the Military base (of course) and then the Hotel Del Coronado and the beach in front of it. Totally awesome! Like, hang 10 dude! check out the photos of the beach, the bay and the boats. Had a lot of fun in Mexico, where we were accosted by many pushy locals, all trying to sell us "something we don't need"! we did make a few purchases, though we knew that what we bought wasn't what they said it was, but that makes the experience complete. We had authentic Mexican food, and we didn't die, and Montezuma didn't get his revenge on us, so we had a very nice time.

A California Wedding

So, Debbie and I were walking the beach on Coronado Island just outside the Hotel Del Coronado. She spotted a wedding. A very simple one. A bride, groom and preacher. So I thought I would take a few pics of them. (I asked permission of course!) I didn't get their names, but they looked very happy to be getting married, and I wish them well. I hope you like the photos, who ever you are!

SP/4 Shaun Phillips returned from Iraq

Shaun actually returned a few weeks ago, but because his home station is in Colorado, he needed to return there for a few weeks before being allowed military leave. He's going to be home for a while. Make sure you thank him for his service to our great country!

Mr and Mrs Cehulik took their Sunday School class to the Pepsi Center last evening, (Friday, 20 Feb) They had a great time, as did I! I made a whole lot of new friends, one in particular, who is studying photography! Though I didn't catch his name, I did give him one of my cards. Perhaps I'll hear from him, or see him at another activity.

I will be posting the photos sometime this week, after processing them. Please comoe back periodically to catch the link to the photos

Do You Love Jesus? Banquet

Here are some of the photos we took at the banquet. The uploaded versions of the photos are 72dpi. If you would like a printed copy of the photo, please e-mail me at kwflateau@gmail.com

The photos are composed by combining a green screen image with a photo of my daughters rose (a valentines day gift from her loving father) and a piece of blue wrapping paper. All combined, I think, to give a great color combination.

Winter Camp 2009

WOW! What a camp! The snow was awesome. The weather was cold, nippy and of course, more snow. I imagine the temperature was around 15 - 18 degrees today. The kids had a riot, and the adults did too! There are over 800 photos (809 to be exact) much of them were shot in rapid sequence to show the snow kicking up as they went down the hill. I really enjoyed shooting them as much as they enjoyed the hill. I am sorry I couldn't stay longer to take the group shots, but, hey... at least I got these!

I hope you enjoy them. Click on the photo to be taken to the entire collection of photos.

My wife's theme song

After 25 years of marriage, I have finally relented, given in and have lost all hope of being on time for anything. Thus, I have declared this to be my wife's theme song.
